MAY 17th - IDAHOBIT
🌈 Join us in raising awareness and standing up against LGBTQIA+ discrimination on International Day Against LGBTQIA+ Discrimination! 🏳️🌈
🌈 Today, May 17, we unite against LGBTQIA+ discrimination on International Day Against LGBTQIA+ Discrimination! 🏳️🌈
It’s not just about sporting rainbow colors; it’s about standing firm against the discrimination that still persists in our world. Let’s remember, it was only in 1990 that the World Health Organization finally removed homosexuality from the Classification of Diseases. Progress has been made, but there’s still work to do.
In the face of rising bigotry and hatred, we must stand together. Discrimination lurks in various forms – from harmful attitudes in workplaces to heartbreaking bullying in schools, and even decisions made by those in power, like the recent ban on books celebrating same-sex families in NSW.
Today, we say no more! Whether you identify as LGBTQIA+, are an ally, or are learning to be one, your voice matters. Let’s reject the normalization of discrimination and embrace inclusivity with open hearts and minds. Together, we can create a world where everyone feels safe, accepted, and loved. #IDAHOBIT #LGBTQIA+ #MentalHealthAwareness 🌈✊

Acknowledgement of Country
I acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people of the Kulin Nation, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which I live and work. I pay my deepest respects to Elders past and present, and to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. I recognise their enduring connection to land, waters, community, and culture, and acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded. This always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
Acknowledgement of Genders and Sexualities
I celebrate and affirm people of all genders, sexualities, and relationship structures. My practice is a safe and inclusive space for LGBTQIA+ individuals, couples, and families. I honour the richness of diverse identities and experiences and am committed to supporting all clients with respect, openness, and affirmation.
